Riftlands lore overview
The Fracture and the Birth of the Riftlands
Once, the world of Elaris was whole—a vast land of mighty kingdoms, arcane wonders, and boundless prosperity. At the heart of this world lay the Æther Nexus, an ancient, pulsating core of raw energy that connected all life. For centuries, the Nexus provided balance, empowering civilizations with magic, technology, and the means to shape their own destinies.
But power breeds ambition. The great nations of Elaris, blinded by greed and desperation, waged war to control the Nexus. Forbidden rituals were cast, weapons of immense destruction were forged, and the balance of the world was shattered. The Fracture tore through reality itself, splitting the land into countless floating islands, now known as the Riftlands. The once-stable magic of the Nexus erupted into violent storms, forming chaotic Rifts that twisted time, space, and even life itself.
Now, the Riftlands are a broken realm, where survival is dictated by strength, cunning, and the ability to wield the unstable forces of the Æther.
